SEADAC's Youth Outpatient Treatment Department is located at the Agency’s headquarters. The program provides Outreach, Intake, Assessment, Outpatient Counseling (Individual, Group, and Family), Recreational Activities, Access to self-help groups when available, Follow-up, and Consultation.
This program provides both traditional outpatient treatment (one to three times per week) and intensive outpatient treatment (three hours a day for three days a week). Treatment is not limited to substance abusers alone. Staff members work with children living with substance abusing families and/or co-dependents. This Program also sends a Counselor daily to an outpost at the Las Casas High School, Bowen High School and South Shore High School.
Another important aspect of the Youth Treatment Program is the providing of services to DCFS client referrals, of parents seeking to be reunited with their children.
In Fiscal Year 2005, the Youth Department served 901 clients.
